Get ready for the Hillsboro Village Art Walk on Thursday, February 2, 2012 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm! Enjoy receptions, shows, music, artists, demonstrations, book signings and events hosted in most of the shops and restaurants throughout Hillsboro Village. The Hillsboro Village Art Walk is the first Thursday of every month – get it on your calendar! February’s Valentine Art Walk will feature  special sweet treats and Valentine’s arts and crafts.

There is free parking after 6 pm behind Cornerstone Financial and along 21st Avenue.

Happenings and Participating Merchants

• Sweet Cece’s in Hillsboro Village –  Sweet Cece’s is the shop of the month during the Art Walk meaning they will be hosting “craftville.” Stop by Sweet Cece’s during the Art Walk and join in on making Pom Pom puffs. Also, Emma Klingbeil will be featured at Sweet Cece’s as the Art Walk artist of the month!  Live music by Aida Paul will be playing and there will be the monthly raffle giveaway which will be a Valentine’s Day basket filled with candy, accessories and a $20 Sweet CeCe’s gift card.
• Posh – Brett Warren Photography Emporium will be featured in Posh Boutique. Also, Posh will be unveiling its new window display during the Art Walk.
• Fire Finch – Music City Cake Pops will be featured at Fire Finch. Jacque Peck and Heather Wilson joined their love of art and baking to form Music City Cake Pops. You will be able to try their heart shaped pops and chocolate covered marshmallows.
• Zeitgeist will have artist, Vesna Pavlović, presenting her project “Search for Landscapes”, shown as a photographic installation last year at theUntitled, (12th Istanbul Biennial), 2011.
• Provence will feature painter, Juliana Erickson and musicians,Derek Pell and the Gypsy Cowboys. Also, FREE Sampling of their Valentines dessert menu will be available.
• SEE Eyewear will have local artist, Jo Sanders and will feature $40 off one pair of glasses and $60 off the second. They will also have free drinks and snacks for everyone.
• Bookman/Bookwoman will have author, Dwight Lewis, discuss Bus Ride to Justice:Changing the System by the System, the Life and Works of Fred Gray by Fred Gray(New South Books).
• Pangaea will have Nashville native, Anna Zeitlin, featured at the unique boutique. Anna makes hats, accessories and headbands.
• The Belcourt Theatre will have artist, Jeff Bertrand, at the theatre for the artist’s reception where Art Walkers can stop by.
• A Village of Flowers will not only  have artist, Lydia Hejny, but will also be offering 10% off all Valentine’s Day order placed on the night of the Art Walk.
• A Thousand Faces will feature a collection of heart art from various artist.
• Kay Bob’s will have music by the band Eight O’Five Jive and will be offering 2-for-1 Yazoo draft and $2.00 sweet potato chips or hand-cut fries.
• Jackson’s will feature artist, Andy Detwiler, who transfers photographs onto wood panels and will be offering half-price glasses of wine and $5 Nantucket Sunsets and French Martinis.
• McDougal’s will be offering 2-for-1 draft beer.
• Hot & Cold will be selling Olive & Sinclair chocolate dipped strawberries to get everyone in the Valentine’s Day spirit.
• Belcourt Taps & Tapas will have live music from the Cumberland Collective beginning at 8:00pm and will be offering half off select draft beers and $1 off house wines and well cocktails.
• Zumi Sushi will have artist, Kelly Parsons.
• Fido will be offering a deal where if you buy 2 specials, you get a dessert free!
• Sunset Grill will have $6 Stoli Martinis, $5 appetizers, and $5 house wine glasses.
